Albury and Wodonga hospitals are looking for FACEM Doctors from now on until the end of the year.
Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is a unique cross-border health service that operates under the jurisdiction of the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
Providing the Best of Health to more than 250,000 people, across an area spanning North East Victoria to Southern New South Wales, AWH has grown to be the second-largest regional health service in Victoria and provides healthcare services comparable to metropolitan centres.
AWH is a 337-bed health service that treated over 61,000 emergency presentations, more than 40,000 inpatients, and delivered 1650 babies in the last 12 months.
Services are provided from 17 sites across North East Victoria and Southern New South Wales.
There are 30 sub-acute beds, 95 mental health beds, five intensive care beds, seven operating theatres, and 117 general beds.
Currently, plans are underway for the expansion of the Albury Emergency Department and Specialist Clinics plus a new mental health rehabilitation residential service at the Wodonga campus.
AWH also manages a range of community-based residential facilities and community health centres.
Albury Hospital
The Department of Emergency Medicine, also known as the Emergency Department or ED, is a busy department attending 35,000 patients annually. The ED has 20 treatment areas including 4 consulting rooms, a plaster room, an eye room, 12 general cubicles and 2 resuscitation beds. The ED is the regional Trauma Centre for North East Victoria and the NSW catchment area. The ED also receives all orthopaedic cases for the NSW catchment area and North East Victoria.
Wodonga Hospital
The Emergency Department sees 32,000 patients annually with approximately 2,350 admitted from the Department to the Acute Hospital. The ED has 8 treatment areas with a capacity to house 12 patients and there are also 2 resuscitation rooms. The ED treats all Obstetric Emergencies.
