  • Salary range: Level 6 $84,665 – $89,477 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

About the team

UWA is making significant investments in the Information and Technology Services to enable its strategic direction and goals. UWA is also looking to utilise technology advancements to expand its services and create new and innovative teaching and research models.

The redesign of the Infrastructure and Platform unit aims to deliver design and operational services through a portfolio comprised of a Network and Systems section and an End User Compute section.

About the opportunity

As the appointee, you will be responsible for providing remote & in-venue technical support and troubleshooting of audio visual installations, including ( but not limited to ); AV switching & control, soft conferencing, digital signage, and lecture capture systems; in line with UWA standards. You will work collaboratively to support the consistent, quality delivery of teaching and otherwise maintain and support the effective delivery of UWA’s AV requirements.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate AV issues and concepts in ordinary language
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive stakeholder relationships, managing competing priorities whilst always interacting professionally with clients and remaining fully customer focused
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, utilising well-developed organisational skills to set priorities and ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Proficiency in a range of Audio Visual technologies including video conferencing, bridging, AV control systems and AV switching & streaming
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, database, internet and email
  • Relevant Industry provided and recognised AV training and or accreditation is desirable
  • ITIL certification or experience in ITIL processes is desirable
  • Working knowledge of the Higher Education sector is desirable

About you

You will be conversant with AV / electronic circuit diagrams & block diagrams. and electronic materials; understand AV signal flow / paths, and AV digital technologies. With these skills, you will be able to troubleshoot faults in AV and electronic systems. Electronics background / theory is desirable.
