Our journey
The Victorian Heart Hospital will be Australia’s first dedicated heart hospital and is nearing its final stages of construction. It will include a full range of ambulatory and inpatient cardiac care, including cardiac theatres, cardiac catheterisation laboratories and ambulatory services such as cardiac CT, echocardiography, and specialist consultation. It will also feature a unique, patient centred model of care. The Victorian Heart Hospital will also play a key role in advancing research and teaching and will be home to the Victorian Heart Institute, a brand new, health and medical research organisation at Monash University.
Exciting Nursing Leadership Positions
We invite talented Nurse Managers with demonstrated management and clinical expertise to be an important part of the leadership team transitioning into the brand-new facility after its completion. These are truly unique and exciting roles for experienced Nurse Managers to appoint a new team and assist with the transition strategy in the following cardiac dedicated services: –
Ambulatory Services
The Ambulatory Services will be one of the largest programs in the Victorian Heart Hospital and will deliver an innovative model of care, provide a comprehensive range of acute and chronic cardiac consulting services.
Emergency Department
The cardiac Emergency Department will be the first dedicated cardiac emergency department in Australia with state of the art 22 bed capacity. The appointed Nurse Manager will be pivotal in the recruitment, transition, and education of the new Victorian Heart Hospital team.
Intensive Care Unit
The Intensive Care Unit will deliver dedicated Cardiothoracic care and a nurse lead ECMO service. The Nurse Manager will also have the exceptional opportunity to build a team of dedicated cardiothoracic nurses as well as support Post Graduate critical care and cardiac care nursing students.
A day in the life
We guarantee that no two days will be the same as you embark on a career defining role as Nurse Manager. Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Clinical Operations, you are also responsible for the clinical and operational outcomes, leading and mentoring a team, workforce management and strategy, all financial resources and delivering service excellence and innovations.

These are full-time ongoing positions working Monday to Friday.
