A leading Australian food company is currently looking for a highly motivated and capable Product Development Technologist to join the New Product Development team. The company’s success has resulted in an excellent opportunity for a highly capable Product Development Technologist, who will be a key part of the team and responsible for developing new and innovative products.

The role:
- Reporting to the NPD Manager, the Product Development Technologist is responsible for conducting new product research and for developing new product concepts.
- Conduct R&D trials, both internally and with customers, collate and analyse data from the results.
- Maintain technical expertise in sourcing, purchasing and understanding ingredients.
- Keep abreast of food market trends, new packaging formats and technologies, as well as equipment to ensure a competitive advantage.
- Work with the Process Engineers to ensure the feasibility of product launches and ensure benefit to the business.
- Prepare customer presentations, sample preparation and new product testing.
- Qualifications in Food Science or equivalent.
- Around 2-3 years previous experience in a similar role.
- Working in a high care food industry will be highly desired.
- Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder management experience.
- Strong interest in food and new product development.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
