What you'll be doing

NextSense provides quality, innovative services to achieve the best outcomes for current and future generations of Australians with vision and/or hearing loss. This role will be responsible for coordinating a comprehensive Speech Pathology service to clients and their families, referred due to their permanent hearing/vision loss. This includes the provision of assessment, ongoing management and consultancy. The Speech Pathologist is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team for cochlear implant assessment and ongoing therapy, and will be required to participate in clinical, educational and administrative activities that are required to provide an efficient and effective service. NextSense provides education, allied health and cochlear implantation services for children and adults with hearing and/or vision loss, and their families across. Regional NSW trips and telepractice allows services to be delivered across NSW.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Speech Pathology with eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.

  • Knowledge &/or experience with individual who have: hearing loss and/or communication difficulties; complex communication needs; paediatrics; and sensory or multiple disability.

  • Prior experience working with clients that have hearing technology.

  • Ability to work independently and to seek clinical advice as necessary and appropriate for safe clinical practice.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience providing training to speech pathology students, parents or professional groups.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available.
