About the opportunity
We are seeking a Rural Generalist (Anaesthetics) for Cowra Health Service.
The role is based in Cowra and will be clinically responsible for conducting both inpatient and outpatient anaesthetics services, and participating in the on-call anaesthetics rosters.

Cowra is located 310 kilometres due west of Sydney, 92 kilometres south west of Orange, 110 kilometres south west of Bathurst and just over two hour’s from the nation’s capital, Canberra.
With the beautiful Wyangala Dam only a short drive from town, as well as the Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre and a number of arts galleries and museums in town, Cowra is a great place to live and work.
Cowra Health Service is a procedural hospital with 30 beds including 24-hour emergency care, acute and sub-acute/non-acute inpatient services including medical, surgical, rehabilitation, maternity, palliative care, diagnostic services, outpatient services including renal dialysis and a range of primary and community health care services.

- Unconditional General and/or Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and/or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and/or Vocational Recognition as a General Practitioner.
- Significant Anaesthetic skills and experience with current JCCA (Joint Consultative Committee Anaesthesia) certification and current CPD.
- Minimum three (3) years post graduate clinical experience. Previous experience in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics or Rural Medicine an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of and commitment to clinical quality and patient safety, work health and safety, working within NSW Health Policy and current clinical practice guidelines.
- Knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of the broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Competence in performing the range of procedures commonly undertaken in a rural emergency department.
- An understanding of patient centred care and demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team including demonstration of NSW Health CORE values in delivering safe and high quality care.
